Guest guest
hi everyone hope your weekend went well. i have not been feeling well at all today. the last two hours i've been fighting a fever. the last two times i went to have my blood work done my white count was a little high at 13.9 . is it normal for this to happen on occasion from any kind of sarcoidosis especially when you aren't on any treatment? if anyone can answer this thank you for your advice. Guest guest
Hi e, Whether this is inflammation from the sarcoidosis or if you've caught a bug-- it could be either. It's not unusual for us to have high white cell counts, more the monocytes than the WBC. It is like our body is in constant battle to fight off something, even if there's nothing to fight. That is actually what "autoimmune" means. It means that your body thinks there is a problem, so it sends out all the messengers (white cells) to fight that something. It doesn't get the signal to stop the fight, and it builds upon the white cells, rather than clear them out. If you continue with a fever for more than a day or so-- get in and see the doc. In the meantime, rest, get plenty of fluids, and rest some more. Take care, Tracie NS Co-owner/moderator i have a question hi everyone hope your weekend went well. i have not been feeling well at all today. the last two hours i've been fighting a fever. the last two times i went to have my blood work done my white count was a little high at 13.9 . is it normal for this to happen on occasion from any kind of sarcoidosis especially when you aren't on any treatment? if anyone can answer this thank you for your advice.
