Congrats for getting on ATDs and best wishes that you are managed properly - you'll learn a lot about that here. Guest guest
Hi. My daughter Sophia who is 11 months old was just diagnosed as Complex I, III, and IV deficiency. Her neurologist wants to start her on the " mito cocktail. " It will be carnitor, Co-Q10, B-1, B-2. She also takes Cyproheptadine for help with migraines. I was wondering if anyone's children had any problems tolerating any of the " ingredients " of the cocktail. Thanks Meagan Mom to Sophia (11 months) - GERD (despite nissen), hypotonia, developmental delays, asthma, migraines, partial g-tube fed, muscle pain
Guest guest
Im sorry to hear about your daughter! My son is 2 and has complex 1 deficiency. He was started on the cocktail (carnitor, coQ10, B1, B2, E and C) in January, and weve had a bit of a ride with it... initially he had severe diharrhea, but we think it was because we started him on it way too fast (all at once, full doses). So we took him off in Feb, and slowly introduced... we rushed it again (one at a time, but still full doses) and he got diharrhea again, so we started over again 2 weeks ago. Hes now on the CoQ10 full dose, and were just starting with Vitamin C at a half dose... so far so good! We are definately seeing an improvement in his energy levels! How is your daughter affected? Guest guest
My 2yo started the cocktail at the age of 4mos and really had no problems tolerating anything. Right now our only problems are getting her to take the CoQ10- she hates the way it tastes-- and it is so oily that it sometimes makes her gag. On the other hand- we noticed improvements IMMEDIATELY with the cocktail!! le and 2yo Lea living with partial complex 1 and 6 other very healthy kiddos > > > Hi.
