Guest guest
Hi, I sent out an email yesterday and lots of folks got blank messages. So, lets try this again. Hi all, Just wanted to let you all know that and I are alive and well. I've been working myself to the bone, trying to keep it all together. I had a temp job (operative word here is had) through an agency. Absolutely ideal, five miles from home, saving on gas, lost of overtime . We were told this job was temp to hire, the agency has had the contract for five years. About a month ago we were informed that our department (typing) would be phased out because it was more cost effective and cutting edge to "outsource" the work. We were assured we would be given plenty of notice and placed in other jobs within the company. When asked if they were sending work overseas, we reached an emphatic no. Apparently, integrity is not the strong suit here. Come to find out the more efficient typists reside in the Philippines. As recently as Friday, our agency was informed not to worry about their employees because they would be given amle notice of our fate After being told we could come in early this morning because the work was so backed up, apparently things changed over the weekend because as of this morning, several of us are unemployeed. The agency reassured me that it was not my performance, I'm in good standing with them and a priority to be placed. In the meantime, I've reopened my unemployment case. After rejoicing yesterday at my first day off in exactly a month (JCPenney has been scheduling me every Saturday and Sunday), I'm once again unemployed. No word as of yet on my case against the state. I'm pondering just collecting my unemployment check, working a few hours here and there for a few months, working on re-organizing my house and waiting to see what happens job wise. The stress of these hours has been intense and I'm not sure I want to get back into that again. I'm still waiting to see if we are approved for MediCal and I'll look for work, but I'm not so sure that Temp Work is the answer. I can't take anymore one day you no longer have a job notices--that's two in three months folks. Unemployment is good till December so we'll see what happens. In the meantime, thank God for the surgery and the weight loss or the stress would have probably killed me by now. Other than this nasty job situation, and I are just find and I keep finding bigger buckets to bail out my leakiy boat! If it weren't for all the positive feedback on losing so much weight (down 120 and still dropping), my self-esteem would seriously be in the toilet. If you hear of anything PERMANENT keep me in mind--anyone need a maid!!? Hugs, Chris Yahoo! Mail Use Photomail to share photos without annoying attachments. Guest guest
Sorry things are so hard on you at this time. Life can take on some bumpy roads for sure I've been on many, but if we keep walking we will hit the smooth road again. Your weight lose is great, stay strong and things some how will work out. Take care. Donna J. chris lopez wrote: Hi, I sent out an email yesterday and lots of folks got blank messages. So, lets try this again.
