I have contacted numerous centers however my daughter does not fit their criteria. My daughter has recently had an episode that has really effected her and we are probably going to take her out of school permantly. I have no one to watch her while I work and unfortunatly, My husband and I can't really afford one income. We cannot draw SSS and we don't qualify for Medical or Medicaid due to our income. Does anyone have some suggestions? Please contact mito-owner with any problems or questions. __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Is she a member of tri-counties? They will facilitate your daughter receiving " institutional deeming " status. Bad way of describing it, but essentially it enables your daughter to be considered as an individual and only her income is considered, not the parents, as far as receiving care such as nursing care. It's also described as the " waiver " program. I know several moms out my way (camarillo) who have done this and they are now receiving extensive nursing care in home for their children. One of the children is not even medically involved. He has MR and would be a danger to himself if not attended to constantly. Another has a seizure disorder and autism. We have been told that will qualify (he is 5 1/2). We haven't done it yet because we expect to leave California pretty soon.
