Guest guest
Hello to everyone. I hope this day finds you well. I haven't posted for some time as life has kept me busy. My hair started falling out in handfuls a few weeks ago. Doc said it's alopecia. When I ask what causes alopecia I got the old shoulder shrug... " don't know " . Here we go again. He did a full blood workup for the normal suspects such as thyroid, infection, diabetes, etc. Nothing heard in over a week...have to call today. I had been off my meds (pred) for months when this all started but it did start about the same time as a minor flare. I've lost a large patch on one side of my head and other scattered spots, not to mention how thin what's left has become. Sarc and alopecia are both autoimmune. The only information I was able to find says that it is very rare for sarc to cause alopecia. So, my question...anyone else experiencing hair loss that is not a result of meds? Any thoughts? Thanks Tony
Guest guest
Hi Tony.. I have had lots of hair loss, thought it was related to Imuran, I was told to take some over the counter "BIOTIN" which is a B vitamin.. and sure enough my hair not only started growing again.. but it was curly and I had a head full of hair.. now I'm not saying this will happen to u and I'm not pulling a infomercial on "Biotin" but it worked.. Plus, u need to considerd if hair loss is a family trait, is your dad bald, thin.. etc.. ask your doctor Hugs, Sarc & alopecia??? Hello to everyone. I hope this day finds you well.
