Guest guest
HI Bleu, I am glad to hear that you are doing good. Unjury makes a good flavorless protein powder. You can go to www.unjury.com . I have tried this and it is very good. Don't worry about getting all of the liquid in at first it will come at time goes on just sip, sip, sip. Guest guest
Glad to hear things are going well Dawn. As for the protein I don't use the flavorless. It is unflavored, as in, it won't taste like chocolate or banana, but from what I hear it DOES taste like whey. So it is not tasteless. Others will have more to say, I'm sure. I've been home since Thursday, but I have had some computer problems and was not able to sign on! I have wanted to come on this list a few times in that week to ask questions. Thank you to those who sent well wishes before the surgery. I am sorry I wasnt able to respond to you sooner Everything went very well.I did have an issue with the nursing staff, not assisting me in walking, which we learned is as important as breathing! Problem solved with the assistance of my surgery mate Cathy's husband! I have had very minimal pain , and have only taken the lortab to help me sleep at night. I am having a very difficult time getting in all of the liquid. I have an alarm to remind myself to eat, because I am not feeling hungry at all. I am on Stage 2. My favorite thing is some of the strained cream soup with chicken bouillion. NUMMY! (awhile ago - I probably would have passed! LOL) I am doing my walking, but do tend to get very tired in the afternoon. Need anout a 2 hour nap to feel alive again! I am sorry to ask this again, but can anyone recommend a flavorless protein powder? That is actually what it advertises? I bought the stuff at the Kaiser Pharmacy - which is absolutely dreadful! I am using the Whey falvored powder from Walmart. Its only 40g per serving, but I have been mixing 2 1/2 scoops to get the extra protein in. Usually 1 scoop choclate and 1 Vanilla mixed together - helps cut the chocolate. I did try mixing the flavorless in to do this - but that was horrible too! I was really prepared for the surgery - thanks in great part to this group! Thanks! Bleu (aka Daun) Colleen
Guest guest
Unjury makes an unflavored that is pretty good. It's kind of on the pricey side but Unjury is the only protein drink that tastes good to me! You can get it from www.unjury.com. Tina > > Hello all! > > I had my surgery on 3/15 with Dr Gorrin. Guest guest
Bleu Glad surgery went well. You are doing great, the tiredness is all normal just takes time. Your energy level will get better as time goes by. I had a little staff problem also, but all went well other wise. It was all worth it. I also wasn't hungry and had to remind myself to eat until I hit about 5 months post op. Don't worry things change with time. As far as the protein I can't help you I've never used it, but someone will give you the answer. Take care, you're doing great. Donna J.naughteeheart@... wrote: Hello all! Guest guest
Bleu - glad to hear you re doing well. Isn't amazing that they can re-arrange you insides and there isn't much pain? I will never get over that. As far as the protein drick, I personally think it is all horrible but I found that I can tolerate Necter brand that I order from VitaLady.com. You can also buy samples there. Good luck, let me know what you find that is OK to you. PEGGY > > Hello all! > > I had my surgery on 3/15 with Dr Gorrin. Guest guest
Hi Bleu - Glad things are going well. If I were you, I wouldn't try to get 80 grams of protein into one shake - you can have two and you can take your time drinking them, and as others have said, it becomes much easier to get them down very quickly. I agree that the Unjury unflavored is pretty good, but I found a more taste-free alternative, but it is very expensive. It is called Jay Robb's Unflavored Egg White Protein. I bought it at the Earthbeam health food store on Burlingame Avenue in Burlingame, but I am sure it is available elsewhere and online. It cost $23.35 for a one-pound jug! - but if I make a protein shake with it using one of the sugar-free syrups that you might not want to mix with vanilla or chocolate (like lime), it tastes quite authentic. Good luck! Randy > > Hello all! > > I had my surgery on 3/15 with Dr Gorrin. I've been home since Thursday, but > I have had some computer problems and was not able to sign on!
