Guest guest
Patti there are many reasons why you may have not lost any weight. One your body may be in are adjustment stage and all of a sudden you will have a big weight lose. You said that you just got back from a trip did you fly? A lot of time the air pressure from the plane causes you to retain water. I know every time I fly I retain water for some reason. When you were there did you drink enough water to keep things moving along? You might have not gotten enough calories in and your body could be going into starvation mode and it will cause you not to lose weight also. So don't worry about it you will start to lose again. Now that you are back just make sure you stay on track with your water, exercise and protein. Get enough calories in. You need to get about 900 calories to keep it from going into starvation mode. Guest guest
Let go of the diet mentality, and don't freak out. Your body is adjusting. You may hold onto water. If you travelled by air, sometimes you retain fluid because of dehydration that occurs as a result of doing air travel. You probably ate out at meals, and there is always more salt in restaurant meals. Just get back on the wagon, follow the program, and don't worry. It'll happen. I didn't overeat. There is no way I could have or even had the desire to. My pants are loser. I am almost 4 wks out and am following the rules, though I did eat 1 cookie and a couple of chips during the week. Granted, I didn't work out at all and usually I am at the gym 4-6days/week. Anyway, I am frustrated and kind of confused. It doesn't make sense. Maybe that time of month has something to do with it, but know I am fearful to eat. Dr Park is pleased with my weight lose and does not seem concerned with it. Me, I'm freaking! Any ideas? Guest guest
Hi Patti , me again. I went almost 3 1/2 weeks and my " evil " scale didn't move. I have done EVERYTHING by the book. So after a few days of real concern I call the nutitionalist in Fremont. She told me not to worry that my body was just resting and trying to decide what it should do now that I am not eating much. She said don't worry, I'm right on track and darn......two days later I started to lose again and it has been almost a pound a day for five days. I know how you feel, I was really concerned and start to question what I had done. But know have read enough of these posting to stay on track, drink my water and excercise. Hang in there and things will start dropping off again (the weight, your pants LOL). PEGGY > > Ok, So I have a question. I was away in a seminar for 1wk. When I > left, I weighed in at 249. Guest guest
Patty - If you're in the gym 4 - 6 days a week, and your waist and hips are shrinking but your weight is rising, the explanation is simple and obvious - you have replaced fat with heavier muscle. A brief stop in exercise occasioned by a business trip also equals a brief respite from weight loss. That's a good thing, because we can guarantee that if you keep up your gym routine, you will resume losing large amounts of net weight over time and reach your goal - and obviously Dr. Park feels the same way. So relax and enjoy and forget frustration. As you say, you KNOW you're not doing anything wrong. You're NOT on Atkins - one 110- calorie, 5 sat-fat-gram cookie or a few chips are not going to change your path. Every bit of muscle you put on means that post- goal plastic surgery will have a better result and a faster recovery. You're doing great! Randy > > Ok, So I have a question. Guest guest
I never knew how many calories I should be getting in at this stage. 900, huh? Wow, I think I am still around the 500 cal area. Thanks for the input. Patti > > Patti there are many reasons why you may have not lost any weight.
