Guest guest
I have a friend who's child is going through this too. I found this on the web. a " In cases of generalized hair loss, metabolic abnormalities could be the culprit. It's worth checking for thyroid disorders. " " In rare cases, nutritional deficiencies can also cause hair loss. Iron and protein deficiencies, in particular, can be a problem, but with today's high-fat, high-protein diets, these occur infrequently. " " The key to treatment is to correct the underlying abnormality. " a > My son has recently started to lose some hair-not in patches. I first noticed it when he leaned his head on my white shirt and there were about 10 strands on my shirt. If I run my fingers through his hair a few strands always come out. I know at different times of the year we lose more hair than others but since he is on such a restricted diet-feingold, no corn soy wheat casein eggs white potatoes fruit(exept lemon juice added occasionally) I am concerned it is related to his diet? What in particular would cause hair loss if it was related to his diet?

Guest guest
i think what i was referring to was you used Tap as the reason it " should decrease. " i think hair loss has to run its course and doesn't just stop when someone " stabilizes " , in fact it is a reaction to that thing, in our cases (i have gross hair loss, too) it is an effect of rapid thyroid hormonal changes (i am no scientist and don't pretend to talk like one, so excuse me here). this is the link i give out to those who want to better understand the problem: http://www.emedicine.com/derm/topic416.htm nicole, how long a period was your hair loss? Hair loss Actually my response was a little longer and has been edited in your reply. My experience was that my hair loss stabilized along with my thyroid levels--less loss as I became more stable. My best advice though is to check the group archives and refer to the articles that were linked previously. Best wishes,
