Guest guest
I received a copy of my daughter's recent labs from CCF today. The clinical interpertaion is " high alanine ratio " . Has anyone ever heard of this before? What values are being compared? What, if anything, does it indicate? I haven't heard of this particulaar ratio before. Guest guest
Hi Joanne, Did you get any answers about the alanine ratio? Emilie tested high for alanine when we were looking for a diagnosis, but nothing was said about a ratio of the alanine to anything other than what its normal level. In her case, I had the impression the elevated alanine was more a marker for mito than a problem in and of itself. Sorry I can't be more help. , mom to Emilie, 18, cp & mito (complex IV) and Kaitlin and Ian
Guest guest
I am not well-versed on this, still trying to figure things out myself. My son's report said his plasma amino acid analysis was " notable for increased alanine relative to some of the essential amino acids. These data suggest the possibility of a primary or secondary disorder of pyruvate metabolism. " I do know much more, but I can tell you that since he has been on Levo-carnitine he is doing MUCH better. Donna H. Mom to Craig (8)unspecified mito and Dalton (6) undiagnosed as of yet, but helped by Levo-carnitine as I stated above >' > > > I received a copy of my daughter's recent labs from CCF today.
