Guest guest
our son has plts that go between normal and low....but for us its not number of plts that are the problem, its the size and function. this is a very different test that is done by hem/oc dr's. we did it and it answered lots of questions for us. He bruised just as you shared....also he got small red dots on him as well, like the size of a pencil eraser. this problem gets worse when he is ill or fighting something off, and it is normal when he is doing fine. We treat with amicar, and also DDAVP for surgery. We do have frequent nosebleeds too, so we actually got the Hem/Oc Dr. to formulate the IV form of amicar into a nose spray so we can stop the bleeds.. hope this helps Donna bruising on the legs (zach) I was wondering if anyone knew what can cause bruising on a leg all down the front? I know zach falls quite a bit cause he likes to run into things. He thinks its "fun". He did have low platelets for a bit but they're norm now. The legs are the only part they're bruising and its all down the tibia bone. Any ideas? mom to zach 4 ga2 alexis 6 __________________________________________________
Guest guest
funny you say that because i know mine dont function well either and mine are low, i have the pupura dots as they call them (red dots ) as well. I know that it can be part of of that but its just frustrating knowing short season is coming and his legs looks like he got wacked w/ a bat on his shins. i am gonna hvae him wear shin protectors if he keeps it up. iluvdizney2 wrote: our son has plts that go between normal and low....but for us its not number of plts that are the problem, its the size and function. this is a very different test that is done by hem/oc dr's. we did it and it answered lots of questions for us.
