Guest guest
This morning - I was getting Amber out of the bath I noticed she wasn't herself. She was very lathargic and she could hardly keep her eyes open. I became extremly concered because her face was bright red as well. I would call her name and she would look at me but she could not sit up. To top it off, her arms started twitching. I layed her down on the cool tile and gave her a cool washcloth. Could this have been a seizure? The bath was warm but I don't think it was warm enough to cause a heat stroke of sorts. She does not have a history of having any type of seizure however lately she has tremors (the Dr.'s felt that has to do with her liver & kidney problems) Since this morning, she has been napping. she doesn't seem to want to eat, only sleep. What are the symptoms of a seizure and if this wasn't one - what else could it have been??? Is there something else I should do for her? Guest guest
It sounds like it could possibly have been a seizure. One way to tell if it is a seizure or something else is by trying to stop the movement or to break the stare. If they can not break the stare or if you can't stop the jerking movement, than it is a seizure. A neuro would have to confirm it, but that is how I was told to determine if it was a seizure or not. Things you should note if this happens again is the length of time it lasted, did her eyes roll and to what direction, did her head turn and to what direction, did both arms jerk, did the legs jerk, how long did she sleep afterwards. Other than the sleep the rest of the info will give the neuro an idea as to what part of the brain the seizure started in. There are 17 different seizure meds and they are used to treat various types of seizures. The more they know the better chance they have of treating the seizures with the right med. From experience, when Wyatt was younger he would sleep for hours after having a grand mal. We have been battling 12-18 seizures a day lately and are on 3 seizure meds. We will be starting the keto diet in two weeks. Wyatt has had seizures since 18 hours after being born. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
