Guest guest
Hi everyone, I think the reintroductions are a great idea. Our story started with Hannahs arrival from Korea at 9 months. Ironically I had requested a special needs 4-5 yr old and they asked me if I would accept a normal infant. I saw her picture, my heart melted and that was that!!! Within a week of her arrival I knew that something was wrong. She did not cry, sit up, crawl, roll over or use her hands. Many Drs said give her time or just said they had no clue. Meanwhile I taught her to do all these things and she even walked at 12 1/2 months. Yet she didn't babble or turn to noise or use her hands except to crawl fisted. She did not play with toys but did alot of rocking and spinning or just sitting alone. Her diapers smelled awful and turned brown, she had poor muscle tone and was not very active. Finally at 2 1/2 I got a neuro to pay attention to me and he suggested mito. We did a muscle biopsy and waited and waited. On her 3rd birthday as my now ex was leaving for work he said oh yah a dr called and she has something wrong and needs to take a cocktail. Then he left. I started her on the cocktail, she got glasses and they put tubes in her ears for non moving eardrums all in a matter of a month. I soon had an active, responsive, babbling child. She said her first word at 3 1/2. Now Hannah is 8, has ADHD, GERD, PDD-NOS, Microcephaly, very farsighted, mild hearing loss, learning disabilities, irregular heartbeat, anxiety disorder, latex allergy, mild hypotonia that is more prominant on her right side. She has a stroller wheelchair that we use for extended shopping or Zoos and such. She walks and runs but does not have the strength to pedal a bike. She is doing great and at this point in time is stable. However I am realistic and know how fast this can all come crashing down. She sees Dr Martha Carlson in Ann Arbor MI. I'm not thrilled with Dr Carlson but weve had worse! We live in Bay City Mi.
