Yes, Craig does see Dr. Carlson in Ann Arbor. What specific diagnosis

does Hannah have? How old is she? Did she help in diagnosing her?

I like Dr. Carlson personally, but I had a really hard time getting a

hold of her when Craig was having a breakdown with seizures last

month. I also had a hard time convincing her that he is really having

seizures since he's never had seizure activity on an EEG under her

observation. We have an appt. this Thursday, and I am bringing video

footage. I will decide whether to switch after that appt.

A lot of members really like the neurology group at DeVoss Hospital in

Grand Rapids. Have you ever considered going there? It's a long way,

but so was the Cleveland Clinic. I wish I could find someone who would

take us as seriously as Dr. Cohen did, and give us more help and

answers.

Let me know what you decide to do. It's so nice to " meet " others from

Michigan. We live in Lake Orion.

Donna H.

Hannah was diagnosed by Dr Levin in Saginaw. I have always

appreciated that he got us a diagnosis but he has horrible dr

manners and his staff is just as bad. When I couldn't take it

anymore I switched to dr Holmes at U of M and then he left and we

got passed on to Dr Carlson. She is nice to Hannah but doesn't seem

to know much more than when we started with her. It just gets

frustrating to drive 2 hours for her to say that she looks good and

see you in a few months. Hannahs teachers say that she has staring

spells like absence seizures but they didn't show up on the eeg so

Carlson says they don't exist but I have seen them too. Hannah is

another of the unspecified mito kids. She had elevated lactate,

elevated citrate synthase, increased lipids, course mitochondrial

staining, mitochondrial proliferation but without ragged red

fibers. They just say that she doesn't fit the mold of the known

mitos so she is unspecified. She is 8.
