Guest guest
Mimi, Max was diagnosed with Failure to Thrive, also. It is a term that is used for babies who are not growing or gaining as they should. It used to be considered more of a psychological term aimed at the mom. In other words, it is given to babies when the authorities think that there is a bonding or other issue between the mom or dad and the baby. When Max was 2 months old and given that diagnosis, they thought that I was not feeding him. Not true, but they did not know what else to say to explain his lack of weight gain. Anyway, most of our RSS babies have some form of failure to thrive. It is used more loosely now and does not seem to have the bad rep that it did 15 years ago. Doctors just put it down when there is no other explanation for not growing. As for ECI services, as long as they will let your son be part of it, then go for it. The more therapy he can get, the better off he will be. Look at it as having a personal trainer! Jodi
