Guest guest
- Thanks so much for your post. After much deliberation I have decided to go foward with ECI (Early Childhood Intervention). After the encouragement I received on this listserve I have realized that it certainly can't hurt. Before Isaac was born I was so clueless about kids..didn't know anyone that had one..maybe held one twice in my life. The shock of being pregnant after 6 years of trying..thinking everything was normal then finding out it wasn't has been alot for me! It was 3 days before I was even able to hold my son after he was born and I had to beg the NICU nurses! I have been struggling with depression for over 2 years and I have to say that even though it has been tough I feel like I am overcoming huge hurdles every day. Isaac's " condition " has taught me how to be strong, grateful and humble. I prayed for a child for 6 years and God finally answered my prayer..I am so grateful. It is scary to read about G-tubes and all of the various things mentioned here, but the people are so generous in sharing their experiences.. Thanks again for all of the feedback! Guest guest
I've been there. It is emotionally exhausting. Just keep praying - it got me throught a lot. It does get better and I can say that I have definitely become a better person as a result of dealing with my son's eating issues. It will get better, although I can still cry today if I think back to some of the hurdles I had to face when he was younger, but it just helps me appreciate all my kids and life in general. I'll pray for you and Issac.
