Yes, I do relate to what you are saying about your daughter. I

teach children like her every single day. I teach a self-contained

class called Language and Learning Disabled and your daughter would

fit in perfectly there. It is amazing, though, how, when the speech

is more intelligible or the teacher understands what the child is

saying, how learning develops more quickly and social skills

improve. I just love my job because I can see the improvements and

I pride myself in being able to bring that out in the children.

Your daughter so much reminds me of a boy in particular. He was the

same way, becoming so frustrated because people could not understand

him in the beginning of my year there. Now not only do I understand

him, but the other kids do, too, and he is so much happier. He is

even reading now! And he is only 6. Unfortunately, he comes from a

very low income home where education is not a priority, so there is

no follow-up at home. I wish I could take him home with me!
