Guest guest
My now 8 year old has been in therapy since 17 months old. She has been diagnosed with verbal and oral apraxia. Its neurological disorder. her mind knows what to say, but her mouth has a hard time cooperating. She cannot get her tongue and everything else involved for speaking well in order. its a motor planning disorder. She has a ton of words and phrases now, but her apraxia shows up when she has to say more then 2 words and 3 syllable words. She also talks with her lips not puckering or anything. her mouth area is weak also. I'm not sure, but I might be the only one on here with an apraxic child and RSS,so it must not be common. But it seems speech concerns are in issue in several people, so I don't feel so alone lol! Jennie
