Guest guest
It's been a while since I posted, so a quick intro for new list members: our son is 9 years old, had a G-tube from age 2 until last December, and has been on gH for the last 2 years. had an appointment today with his endocrinologist. He has grown another inch in the past 4 months, and hit a couple of milestones: finally over 4 feet (almost 49 inches, in fact), and now actually ABOVE the 3rd percentile, in the " white area " on the growth chart for the first time! On the downside, he still isn't gaining much weight. He weighs only 44 pounds, well below the 3rd percentile, and his weight has been pretty flat for the past year (only gained 2 pounds). This is discouraging because his appetite has been so good since his G-tube was removed in December, but he still doesn't gain weight. So we're going to try Periactin again, since he's out of school for the summer (we found it made him too sleepy during the school day). Josh is also showing signs of premature adrenarche (although not early puberty), so we're concerned about that, and anxious to hear from Dr. H. on that subject at the conference. We're looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones at the conference next month! - Joe
