Ask: Does doctor so & so do the kind of treatment I'm interested in pursueing? How long can they work with patients on tap / hypo / and how often are labs done to adjustb meds? (hopefully every 3 - 6 months for hyperTs and as needed for hypoT. Does this doctor work with nutrition or other forms of healing? Does this doctor take insurance? Specifically Your Insurance So far I've known I've had this condition for 8 months and been looking for an endo for 5 of those. I too had a prescription to use while I looked . . . and became hypoT while looking. So, if it is going to take a while to find a doctor- then use your local doctor to keep your labs going and determine if you are going hypoT.
