Guest guest
hi all, We went to Pizza Hut tonight and had the buffet. All the time we were there people kept looking at us i kept woundering if the kids were that loud or we look funny to them. well anyway we were done so i picked up the bill so we could go and pay for it. i though here we go it would be about 20-30 dallors boy was i in for a suprize it was only $12 and some change. so i looked a bit closer at the bill. it had two adults and 3 under 3 year old children (which eat for free) they thought all my kids were under three LOL. jacob (my rss boy)is 7 1/2 breena will be four in two weeks and ethan just turned two. i was thinking did all the people in the place have the same asumption and maybe that is why they all kept looking at us because jacob never kept his mouth shut talked the whole time. cara(mom)jacob 71/2 rss breena 3 ethan

Guest guest
I tell people Liam is under 3 because he can not eat that much.... Jed on the other had when they offered to give me the under 3 for him, even when he was older, I did not (usually) accept because he can eat most adult's under the table... Guest guest
Cara- > it had two adults and 3 under 3 year old children Welcome to my world! <G> OK, I don't appear " under 3 " anymore, but I've had a lifetime of being charged the " younger " price because of my appearance. --I paid Kids' prices at the movies until I was about 19 (at which point I wanted to be looked upon as an adult so I made sure my clothes, face and hair looked more grown-up. But if I wore jeans and a T-shirt, didn't put on makeup, and put my hair into pigtails, I probably could've gotten away with it a lot longer <wink>) --My best friend, Kim, who is, admittedly, 5 years older than me and appears older because she's a BBW, has been referred to as my " mother " on MANY occasions. We went to a drive-in theater about 10 years ago (I was nearing 30 at the time) and the lady at the desk asked Kim, in reference to me, " is she 12? " --I was charged the kids' rate at a buffet restaurant about 3 years ago. I was 35 years old. My (then-fiancé, now) husband STILL teases me about that one. When people are asked, point blank, how old they think I am, they usually settle for between 20 and 25, and y'know, I don't think it's just because I inherited my mother's great skin. For YEARS they said 16, but fortunately(?), my hair got very gray, very early. But BOY, am I cute. Yee-freakin'-ha <G>. Y'know, people keep telling me that one day I'll appreciate looking younger. I'm still waiting....<wink>. -Sharon- Just an RSS kid who grew up
Guest guest
I also confuse restaurant hosts/hostesses, so usually I try to be the one to request the table -- then s/he has to look at my face, not just my size... But one of my favorite stories was just last Christmas -- my husband and I were stuck in O'Hare airport on Christmas day, and about to be bumped off our flight to see my family. I let him stand in line by himself for awhile, but I got bored, so I went to stand with him at the counter. We were waiting for someone to help us when I heard one of the women say to another worker, " we've got a father and daughter here, who we really need to get home for Christmas! " started to correct her, and I stomped on his foot! I figured I'd do whatever it took to get on that plane, and letting people make assumptions about my age is nothing new. (btw, she did notice my ring when she turned around and apologized perfusely -- we got on the plane!! *grin*) -Ana (27 years old, RSS) > hi all, my face has aged so i dont get taken for a child now but a few years ago i went into a pizza place with a friend and was given a colouring book and crayons, when i asked for alcohol the waitresses face just dropped(what a picture) Hey sharon , maybe its something about pizza places, Ha!Ha! Guest guest
Cara- Nah, it doesn't bother me. I certainly don't complain when I pay a cheaper price for something (and yes, I knowthat's wrong...but I don't have any kids to make a good impression for <wink>). Don't get me wrong...it DOES gets old and slightly annoying. For the most part, after 38 years, I'm tired of it. But it doesn't really BOTHER me. I will say though, that when I get a patient who says they think I look 30 or (it's happened twice) 40, I want to kiss them <G>. -Sharon- Just an RSS kid who grew up 38y 3m, 4'6.75 " , 94#
Guest guest
Hi Ana- > " we've got a father and daughter here, who we > really need to get home for Christmas! " Hehehehe. Joe is 6' tall but that's just " average tall " to the rest of the world. So he's never gotten stares. When we were dating, especially when we were holding hands, he suddenly started to notice, not just the people staring at me, but the ones who gave HIM dirty looks for someone in his late 20's dating someone who was obviously not " of age " yet heheheheheheh BTW, I'm 6.75 years older than my husband <G>. -Sharon- Just an RSS kid who grew up
Guest guest
Great story, Cara. I used to love it when Max was given those free meals! Unfortunately for Max, now, even when he is turning 16 in three weeks, they STILL offer him the kids' menu. He gets so embarassed. Jodi Z.
