Guest guest
Hi , I dread stairs too. I really dread them at work. I try to take 3 1,000mg flax oil soft gels a day. Mostly I'm good about it and at night I take 1 vitamin E 400 IU. My latest labs came back hyper as follows: T4Free 1.0 range is .8 to1.8 T3Free 288 range is 230-420 TSH .29 (L) range .4-5.5 I was cut down to 100mg PTU a day because last month my TSH was in " normal range " . My endo wants me to take it only 2a day but I split into 3 times aday. You just cant tell them a darn thing. I have comlained about joint/muscular pain and numbsness for ever now and she tells me, " Not everything is your thyroid you know " So I limp around, and constantly shake out my wrists. Honestly thought there are good days too. Like when I'm not at work and I can rest up!! Let me know how feel if you up your flax oil. I think it makes my eyes much less gritty also. Keep me posted!! Guest guest
Luci, Once again I'm mystified by an endo! Your FT4 is low-normal, meaning you're moving towards hypo. Your FT3 is too. TSH lags behind, and is meaningless--but not far from the normal range. I had numbers like yours recently and my endo said " I could keep you on a high enough dose of Tap to bring your TSH up to the norm, but then you'd be really, really hypo and miserable. " Your muscular and joint pain and numbness are no doubt caused by your being hypo FOR YOU. And your tests reflect that you are close to being hypo for anybody! Most of us GD people feel best on the high side of FT4, I know I function best when mine is close to the upper level of normal, say 1.4-1.6. I have a hard time relating to the PTU dosage since I'm on Tap, but my basic understanding is that it's 10:1 or thereabouts. Seems to me that lab numbers like yours, if I was on 10 mg. of Tap I'd be a vegetable. When I got down that low, I started weaning back my Tap little by little, from 10 mg. down to 7.5 to 5 and beyond--for me right now, I'm on only a smidgen, probably the equivalent of 20 mg. of PTU or less. the important thing is, wean down slow as your body will let you. Hope this helps! Guest guest
Hi Terry This helps so much more than you could imagine! All this time I thought I was stil very hyperT. I was so focused on TSH and was disappointed when it dropped again. I am very good about taking my PTU and dont see the endo agin for about 3 more weeks. Actually I only physically " see " her in her office about every 3 months. She mails me my results and new lab slips. It actully works for me because it's less pressure to do RAI. That is a subject she brings up EVERY visit. Sooo there is a reason I'm in so much pain after all. I thought my lymes was flairing up or something. Terry thank you agin so much!!
