Guest guest
Last test on March 17th, 2003 TSH 4.470 0.35-5.5 T3 159 85-205 FT4 0.86 0.61-1.76 The scary part is I feel better than I have in a long time. Not as many aches and pains lately but still have numbness from the carpal tunnel in my left hand. My only real problem is getting up in the morning. I just don't hear the alarm and can't seem to get to work by 7, and end up getting there at 7:30. (oops) lol Sandy
Guest guest
OK, now I'm totally confused. Your TSH is way, way too high--the scale for it was recently revised down, I think the upper level is now 3 for normal. That' means you're hypo. The FT4 is almost to the lower part of the normal scale, also meaning hypo, not hyper. I can imagine you're having trouble getting out of bed! Perhaps someone is wiser than I and can give you better advice, but from my admittedly narrow perspective of having only my own body and test results to go by, I'd be dropping my dose if I were you. How is your appetite? Are you eating much less and still gaining weight rapidly? That was one of the main clues for me that I was hypo, along with a feeling that I never really woke up completely, 'brain fog'. And having to nap in the afternoon and having vivid and disturbing dreams. And muscle aches and cramps, too, and body parts that fell asleep really easily (hip and leg at night). And high blood pressure for the first time in my life. Any of this sound familiar? Guest guest
don't feel bad about the confusion. I'm there too. I started off with a tsh of 0.01 and T3 of 367 and t4 of 19.something. that was my first indication of being hyperT. When I had to switch dr's, I was taken off the meds, about every three months instead of him cutting the dosages, and maintaining my levels. I stayed on 30 mgs of Methimazole unless he was taking me off the meds where the symptoms all came back within two weeks, if it took that long. Then, he'd tell me to take them again, not at a reduced dose.
