Welcome. As Terry mentioned it's crucial to split your dose as long as you can. Once you're on 5 mg. a day, you may do well just taking it once a day but if you're very sensitive to dosage changes you may still want to split it. It's important to wean off the meds gradually. Also, you shouldn't go off the ATD until you've had a TSI antibody test and it comes out not just normal but just about undetectable, at less than 2%. If you're already on a minimum dose of Tap and the Tap, and this is all months away for you, but you still have a significantly higher TSI, you'll want to stay on this maintenance dose of Tap till the TSI is appropriately low. (And, just to add to the confusion, if this minimum dose of Tap is making you hypO, your doctor may want to add synthroid to balance you out and allow you to stay on the ATD till your TSI is OK. But we can jump off that bridge when we get to it ;-) Take care, Fay ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand!
