Thyroid storm is a condition when the thyroid is in overdrive due to an

excess of thyroid hormone. It can happen when GD is untreated for too

long or, after RAI, as the thyroid cells are dying. By overdrive I mean

extremely rapid heartbeat, even more than you may have experienced at

your worst; it is a very, very serious - life-threatening, in fact -

condition requiring emergency treatment. I don't remember how you

described how you were feeling post RAI to say that you may be having a

storm but that you're still on a beta-blocker is good and should be

helpful. Still call your endo if your symptoms persist or worsen.
