Guest guest
Hi Kim, Are you feeling better now that the doc started you on thyroid replacement? From what I understand your intuition was right and you had gotten very hypo since the RAI. It's helpful to also get the ranges for your lab results (I know that's hard when you've got a busy doctor on the phone), but if the TSH is correct you were really hypo (upper limit is 3.0). It would probably help to get bloodwork done before July to make sure you're on the right track. You could wait a few weeks, say till early June, to let the Synthroid take effect and then ask for a retest. It seems like they kept you hanging far too long before getting you on the Synthroid, so you may have to demand your own schedule! One really helpful book is Graves' Disease: A Practical Guide, by Elaine . You also can go the Home page for this group and search the archives. In particular, it's been said that you should take the Synthroid separately from any other meds or vitamins, especially calcium (I've heard 4 hrs. apart for this). Best wishes,
