Guest guest
This topic of enzymes is obviously very interesting to alot of people - one way or the other. But it is appropriate since it directly affects and supports the GFCF diet, as do other supplements. As far as the " AD " part goes, remember that all this started because someone on the board ASKED for information on enzymes and people's experiences. It wasn't a manufacturer posting a press release or something like that. It was one family asking others for their exeriences, and other families posting in response. Also, people are always supplying brand names and companies in questions and responses: Which oil do you like? We use Spectrum. Ms. Roben's has a good mix. We love Kinnikinnick's new cookies. XXX-? Brand grape cough syrup is GF but you will need to call about CF and soy-free. We use Kirkman's supplements. I like Great Plains lab for my child's tests. etc. etc. Calling attention to GFCF diet support products IS the agenda of this place. My own lengthy personal experience was given only after SEVERAL posts REQUESTED it. Sorry it got so out of hand. I am sure in the excitement some people felt like they got hit broadside unexpectedly. And I completely understand if there was not adequate preparation. I didn't realize that, in general, this board did not know about it, as these enzymes have been anticipated for months on the gfcfdiet.com board. Each of us will need to see which products best fit our needs and to what extent they will be used. Remember that I said that I was doing this voluntarily to TEST them for myself. And aren't we all in a constant state of testing things? I read all the time about individuals " challenging " the diet in some way, or giving supplements and then taking them away to to " see what happens. " I read people both saying they do this and also getting responses encouraging these trials. This needn't be a threat to anyone else, and I know most people don't see it that way. Please don't take it as such. Use the information if you can, skip it if you can't. and kids, all PDD-NOS, SID

Guest guest
I was amazed to read a comment on another list that I belong to that Taryn's mother makes someone. " Oh we are in trouble again with that GFCF diet group. To her it is a joke, it almost sounds like she enjoys the disruption that she has caused, if you like I can e-mail you her comment. People are not bashing her, but if she gets enjoyment from her comments, then that is wrong and she should be banned from posting. These are just my two cents worth. I am not here to cause problems, I just want to help my child. Thanks for letting me vent. Sharon
Guest guest
Tim: Just to let you know I am a very dedicated mother and not one to create problems and have found that some of your postings and the comments that you and others are making to some specific people are uncalled for, irresponsible and definitely not what this listing is about. We are all in this together and yes, many people are e-mailing privately making comments. I don't believe in that if something is bothering me about the group I address it and not behind the scenes. Your comment that there is no way to verify offline what is intended by the comment. The comment is just how it is worded you seem to feel that this is a joke otherwise why post it like that " Well, we are in trouble again with the gfcf list " . That was actually posted on several listings. Why even make that comment unless you wanted to cause a problem. The listing has never had these issues, why now? I am not judging you, I feel that many comments on many lists have been made negatively and that needs to stop. As someone else has posted there are other groups that you can belong to in order to share your approach. You took the liberty of posting the comment and understood that there may be negative interpretations, whether or not that was your intention. Every child is different and will react differently to the diet and if your child would have stayed on the diet longer than three months you could have noticed more progress. If you like to waste the time of the group than post your nasty comments. I was amazed at how rude & ignorant your comments were to me. You could have posted to me directly not the group. Just seems like you still want to create a problem. End of discussion on the group. E-mail me privately if you choose. Sharon
Guest guest
I'll save you the trouble...here it is: " Well, we are in trouble again with the gfcf list. It's just so hard to find something that works then not tell anybody. I'm glad we did gfcf for 3 months. It was a tough time right after the diagnoses. The diet made me feel like I had some control over Taryn's symptoms, and she made some real progress during this time. " I'm at a loss as to what constitutes this as a joke. I'm at a loss as to where she indicates delight at a disruption. I'm at a loss as to where there is anything in all of this that is anything other than a desire to share something that we found to be extraordinarily positive for our daughter. I am, quite frankly, amazed that someone would have the unmitigated audacity to take something so badly out of context and turn it into such an ad hominem attack. There was no attempt to verify offline what was intended by the comment. If this list wishes to unsubscribe us, then so be it. We have existed here solely for one purpose (beyond helping our daughter) and that is to share the treatments that are working for us. We know exactly the pain and misery that each parent on this list has been and is experiencing. How could someone who has gone through that possibly make any sort of joke of it? That is beyond me. We all are angry at having to deal with this monstrosity. But we're not about to have insult heaped upon injury. There are a lot of people on this list who seem to be locked and loaded and ready to tee off. You have taken an injurious, unwarranted potshot at my wife that has absolutely no basis in fact whatsoever. If that is what makes it easier to make your kids better, then we will go about it ourselves. How dare you. If you have a problem with this posting, take it up with me. My wife has nothing to do with it. She too kind-hearted to say this sort of thing - your accusations notwithstanding. Guest guest
Hi, I used this list for over a year and stopped about 6 mos. ago due to volume of mail primarily. I joined again about a week ago to check out new recipes, what is new, and hints on good and bad foods, and I am going to unsubscribe due to some of the posts that I have read. The tone of this list is just not as pleasant as it used to be. Cara, I am not sure why it is now frowned upon for listers to mention supplements that they feel have worked well for their children. It was not a problem before. Is it because some of the vendors are regular listers and some that are being mentioned are not? Any time that one gets information over the internet one needs to be cynical to a degree. Parents of children with disabilities are also a good target for nonsense. Lord knows, my husband and I have wasted enough money on " conventional " treatments to date-let alone " alternative " ones and I am a skeptical RN. To the s, I am sorry that you were so upset by the accusational post from the lister that posted comments from another list. That stuff really does not belong on a dietary list and with the volume of mail generated by this one, I also do not understand why someone would bother to post that. I am going to unsubscribe again, but I hope that if anyone reads this they will try and modify some of their criticisims of listmates and keep in mind that all parents taking the time to post on this list have the same goal in mind-trying to make life better for their child/children-even if their methods may not be the same one that you would use. Good luck! Guest guest
Can we please stop bickering over this matter now!!!!!! It is getting old real quick. For those who don't want to know about the enzymes-skip the email, don't keep rehashing it over and over all day every day.
