Guest guest
Hi all! We found out last week that our insurance will no longer pay for Storm's Humatropen, and he was changed to nutropin. With this change we went from a pen devise to a syringe. We also requested the inject- ease. Can I just say WOW!!! Storm actually helped with his shot last night, and asked early if he could do his shot tonight and pretty much did it himself! What an amazing turn around! He was hating his shots, and now he is excited about them! He will be doing the whole thing on his own in a couple of weeks I think! I am so proud of him! What a great kid! Also, just thought I would add, we have started some counseling for him, and after just one session, his anger outbursts have decreased greatly! (We also started a new privilege system that seems to help motivate better behavior!) Anyhow, just thought I would share about my great little man! Guest guest
Carmen, Now that Max is back to using syringes, I am amazed at how much easier it is for him to give himself the shots. I think the pens are great for mixing and convenience that way, but as for giving the shot itself, using a syringe and an injectease is much, much better. I'm also glad that Storm is getting counseling and you are already seeing the benefits. Max has been in counseling for quite a few years now and I really owe so much to his therapist. She has helped take Max into maturity and responsibility. He is always so afraid to take that next step and she has helped him cope with it. He, too, has anger issues and they will probably always be something he has to deal with. I can understand why our guys are angry and am so thankful that there are people to help him deal. Are we on for margaritas at the bar this year? Jodi Z.
Guest guest
Carmen - we also have found that the Injectease is an awesome way of letting them give themselves their own shot. I am not comfortable letting L draw up her own meds yet, but all in good time. Glad the change has been so positive!
