Guest guest
Just a couple of observations about the blow-up (I'm not really on either side): 1) It might help if, when people bring up a new product, they either disclose their financial involvement in it (if they are, perhaps, involved in sales) or say that they do *not* have a financial involvement in it, in which case they can probably just provide a link for people who are interested in investigating the product. 2) I am on three autism lists and the occasional blow-ups almost always have to do with one aspect that parents of kids with autism can have in common. Many of us have a splash of " shadow syndrome " ourselves and can easily develop a " My way or the highway " attitude (being rigid in a way that is probably related to the rigidity of our kids). I see this on both sides of the enzymes discussion--those who think everybody should try them and those who think everybody should be strictly GFCF forever. Most posters are respectful of the views/choices of others, but a small subset seems to want to make decisions for other people's kids. It also amazes me the number of times that someone will say something in a disrespectful way to someone else, then, when that person loses her temper and answers back, accuse the person of " attacking them. " Maybe it is so, but generally, if someone starts an attack, they should not be surprised if the other person answers curtly. 3) I personally don't know about the enzymes but would not censor discussing them on the list. Let's have all the cards on the deck so we all can make informed choices for our kids. Sincerely, M.
