Guest guest
I found this recipe again in my 1993 issue of the Vita Mix cookbook. I was able to find 'most' of the ingredients. -- Betty ==== Elephant Stew 1 large tender elephant 1 truck-load carrots 1 truck-load potatoes 1 wheelbarrow load onions 100 gallons water, or as needed pinch salt 1 rabbit (optional) 100 gallons kerosene fuel Run elephant through car wash to clean. Cut into bite size pieces (this will take approximately 5 weeks). Place in extra large kettle. Simmer elephant in water until tender. Wash carrots and potatoes; cut into 1-inch chunks. Peel and quarter onions (this will take approximately 3 weeks.) Fill vita-Mix container with 1-inch vegetable chunks. add enough water to container to completely cover vegetables. Turn black speed control knob to HIGH. Press red impact lever UP for 2 seconds, DOWN for 2 second, then UP for 2 seconds. Add to elephant pieces. repeat this process until all vegetables are chopped, only about 3 minutes with a Vita-Mix! (we exaggerated.) Add salt. Place over kerosene fire. Cook for approximately 10 minutes. Makes 3,500 servings Hint: If more are expected, add the rabbit. Do this only if needed, because no one likes to find hare in their stew.
