Guest guest
Hi! I've been using the resources of the GFCFKids group for probably a month now. My son is 15 months old and has been GFCF for all his life, with the exception of whatever passed through my breastmilk. We've done the testing at the Great Plains Lab, the first time by the recommendation of one of their nurses. has always been underweight, even lost weight during his first 6 months, and has serious food intolerances. He acts like an animal when he does come in contact with any gluten or casein, and a recent retest of urinary peptides confirms that his problem has not miraculously disappeared. He has not been diagnosed with anything, and is too young to be diagnosed as anything that we discuss on this group. I've been dealing with this diet for quite a while, and every day I think about how easy it would be to just say, " Forget about it " and feed him a normal diet and let the cards fall as they will. I COULD NOT have stayed with it this month without the support of this group! is at the age where he sees people eating things that he can't have, and realizes that his replacement is just not the same. This group has helped me find similar replacements and deal with the diet and know that I'm not alone. My family thinks that I'm ridiculous for being so strict with his diet, and this group has helped me deal with that, too. Now we have the conflict with the alternative therapies. I personally don't mind the posts, I'm interested in the enzymes and might possibly be interested in other therapies if and when my child is diagnosed with something, but I can see where some people might not want to wade through them. The bickering, and people leaving with a burr up their butt, is very discouraging for those of us just trying to get info. My point: I have started a new Yahoo group: gfcfdiet for the dedicated discussion of the GFCF diet ONLY. I hope for there to be no discussion of alternative therapies. This will be only for discussion and support of the GFCF diet for kids and adults. I, however, will remail in this group, as well, because of all the great info I get here. I can hit the delete button just as easily as the next person if I see a subject that doesn't interest or pertain to me. Sorry to post such a long message. __________________________________________________

I clicked on the addresss and it came as an email address, do I just send an email asking to join? I do not know much about computers so I don't mean to sound dum, but thats exactly what I am when it comes to compus. Can I accesss this group through my email as I do the gfcfkids site, without using the web?
