Hi Betty,

There's a letter for families of people diagnosed with Graves' that may help

explain things for your family. If you go to the home page for Graves_support

(Graves_support ) and click on files you'll find it near the

bottom of the page.

My family and I have had a rough time with my illness. I'm used to taking care

of things no matter what, but this has really slowed me down. And my family was

unhappy that suddenly I was (more) emotional and talking about my thyroid levels

all the time. It's also been hard for them to realize that Graves' is something

you live with; it doesn't disappear.

If you haven't gotten Elaine's book I really recommend it to help you find your

way. It's called Graves' Disease: A Practical Guide and is available on

Amazon.com.

Hope you're feeling better,
