Guest guest
Looking for a substitute for a yellow cake mix. I have several recipes that call for yellow cake mixes, and would like to make GFCF versions, but I was wondering if anyone had come across the measurements and ingredients to make a gfcf substitute. It would be nice to be able to make one huge batch and divide it up into Ziplocs so that I would have GFCF yellow cake mixes on hand. Thanks to anyone who can help out! __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hi ANdrea, Have you tried the cake mixes from Miss Robins or from gluten free pantry?? You have to be careful to get gluten AND casein free from Gluten free pantry becuz they seem to cater to those who eat mostly GF only--but you can order a 5 lb bag of the Cake and cookie mix and it is totally yummy and lasts a while too. Miss Robins list what all their stuff is frre of. I like that they have quite a few mixes that are corn and soy free as well as GFCF and taste great too. www.missroben.com or 1- call and ask for a catalogue. I personally find it easier to sift thu a catalogue than thru internet pages when it comes to buying food. Hope something here helps, P.S. To the group: All relationships are complicated . Guest guest
Actually there's a recipe for Pineapple Velvet cake in Special Diets for Special Kids that we love. The pineapple flavor is just enough, but I think if you leave out the pineapple juice and just put water it would taste like a simple yellow cake.
