Guest guest
> Doctor prescribed Propylthiour 50 mg twice daily. What are his plans - to raise it in a few months till you get to what he thinks is an appropriate dose, or is this the highest he plans to go? Try to clarify this. It's best to start at what is assumed to be the highest necessary dose, which in your case I would think would be more like 200. Also, VERY important: PTU MUST be taken 3 times a day, at fairly even intervals. Please discuss this with your doctor as well. Guest guest
Hi, Your PTU dose sounds appropriate given your test results which show borderline hyperthyroidism. I'm not sure your night leg cramps are even related to GD itself because they can also be caused by mineral deficiencies. Mineral deficiencies can be caused by GD but they still need to be corrected with proper diet and nutrition. Are you taking a multivite with iron? Elevated iron can occur in several other conditions but slight elevations are often due to supplements or dietary influences, like diets high in meat.
