Guest guest
How about BBQ made with Hunnt's BBQ sauce, mashed potatoes with chicken broth in place of milk, and veggies. Breakfast-eggs, bacon, etc. Wendi visitors > Help! We are having some family members stay with us for a few days and I have no idea what to serve them. I haven't even been brave enough to have dinner guests yet, much less someone for a few days. Any suggestions for " normal-tasting " meals would be much appreciated. Guest guest
Breakfasts could be eggs, if your family can eat them, GFCF bacon or sausage, Lunches could be cold cut roll-ups, chips and fruit salad, Dinner is perfect for the grill. Marinate chicken breasts in GFCF salad dressing and grill. Make baked potatoes or oven browned potates. Vegetables and salad. For dessert we love Edy's whole fruit sorbet. Good luck! visitors Help! Guest guest
The only real problem I have with cooking separately is desserts, and breads, including pastas. I make everything else gfcf. Mashed potatoes, meats, spaghetti sauce, vegetables. Breakfast is usually eggs, gfcf sausage, bacon or ham or gfcf cereal or toast with fruit. When we have pancakes I make my kids separate, but use gfcf syrup. All margarine is gfcf, spices we use are gfcf. Popcorn is the old fashioned kind you make in a pan on the stove. Jello. You can make baked potatoes, twice baked potatoes, grilled potatoes (sliced with onions, dab of butter, salt and pepper wrapped in aluminum and stuck on the grill, can do in the microwave too, in a container with lid). I just made a good shortcake, for strawberry shortcake, topped with gfcf icecream. If you've gone totally gfcf, then I'd just continue with that for the visitors. Roast, stews and grilling out would be easy gfcf. Lolita
Guest guest
I just always make regular meals for the most part (sometimes my son has corn noodles, but other than that, it is regular food) on an everyday basis. Just cook up fresh meat, rice or potatoes made with gfcf margarine (if your child does not have an issue with rice or potatoes) and a fresh vegetable. I don't know how well your child eats, but this works for us. Debbie -- On Mon, 14 May 2001 08:07:45 Jim & wrote: > Help! Guest guest
Meatloaf is easy to make for everyone. A pot roast or turkey breast is easy too. They might take a little longer to cook but I find they are one of the easiest things to make gfcf for alot of people. MA
