Hi Jodi. Could you refresh my memory on your case? Have you tried ATDs first? You mention your specialist is recommending a total thyroidectomy. Is this specialist your endo or the surgeon? I haven't had surgery but others have. Usually drs. recommend a sub-total, which again usually does the job. What have you read that's causing you not to have full confidence? (Which isn't that uncommon - the more anyone has to deal with thyroid professionals the more cynical one can become ;-( ) About a year ago there was a list of questions for surgeons posted which I can send to you directly. Guest guest
Thank you Faye for your response, and that list of questions, I would be grateful if you could email it to me at motherofu@.... Yes, my Endo is recommending surgery to remove the whole thyroid. (not sub total) I have recently come out of hospital where my Endo told me. I haven't read anywhere where people's teeth are like mine, yes I have the hair thinning more so than loss at the moment, the migraines the shakes, I have had radiation, I think the only thing they haven't tried is the surgery. I am in about my tenth year of GD. Jodi
