Everyone -

It was exactly a year ago today, July 5th, that Joe and lost

their precious Janelle. I wrote them today, after debating whether

or not to " bring it up. " Then realized that I would be touched if

on the anniversary of my mother's death someone who knew her

remembered us.

Most of you never knew Janelle personally, but many of you know how

incredibly supportive has continued to be of all of the

parents on the listserve. Janelle battled a lot of medical issues

during her short 2 years with us, and had a lot of complications

probably unrelated to her RSS. She was the most amazing little

girl -- she could get her father's attention across a crowded room

with one big squeal... her grin would light up the faces of everyone

around her.... everyone who met her fell under her spell. Joe and

-- our thoughts and prayers are with you on this day (although

the day is almost over), and on each day thereafter, as you continue

to make your journey through grief.

Tonight when I read Jodi's email about her daughter Jenna's grief

over losing her friend, I realized that just writing Joe and

might not be enough -- I wanted to post my thoughts here, about this

incredible little girl. Jodi is right -- hold our children close,

treasure every moment, even when they are misbehaving (my husband

came home tonight to find my 7 year old son STANDING on the rooftop

of my husband's convertible......)
