Guest guest
I'm wondering the same thing.....only with the pills. I've been crushing them up and hiding it in marshmallow creme, and that's still tough. I've tried everything: juice, hemp milk, smoothies, applesauce, honey, smashed bananas. Thanks @...: laurenrbaron@...: Fri, 25 Jan 2008 07:44:42 -0800Subject: [ ] The best way to disguise the taste of Supernuthera? Hi,I finally ordered liquid Supernuthera (raspbery flavored) for my 2 year old. I decided to try it myself before giving it to him and wow, is that potent! Kirkman's sent a list of ways to disguise the taste and food/drinks to hide it in but I was wondering if anyone could share with me what works for their child. My son is a picky eater to begin with so hiding it in applesauce is not an option. I'm also thinking that adding it to the juice he likes will just make him not want to drink it anymore. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I also orderd the Three-Lac. Is that pretty much tasteless in drinks?Thanks!---------------------------------Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Guest guest
Here is a suggestion to help get the supplements into juice. Before starting your supplements try two weeks of gradually diluting the juice with water. Gradually you can get him comfortable with one part juice to two parts water. It takes about two weeks for very sensitive kids. (Those really smart little ones that can detect the slightest changes!) Once you have them accepting their juice this diluted you can reintroduce it full strength with the supplements in it. I have yet to meet a child (except for one that did not like juice) that this did not work for. Anytime you need to add something that is potent, gradually dilute the juice again and then introduce the juice full strength with the supplement. Dark grape juice is good to use if your child is put by color changes. Also, sweet apple cider is great to use because it is very sweet. (Not sweetened, just natural pressed cider). For my little guys I had to use a straw to get the juice in the back of the throats so it didn't touch too many taste buds. Good luck with this. Guest guest
We have kids who reject juice as well. Makes me wonder what that is about. > > Here is a suggestion to help get the supplements into juice. Guest guest
I would put it in coke or pepsi (shot glass size) to hide taste. only worked for a short period of time. We had the green apple flavor, which was vile tasting at best. After hubby and I both decided that we couldn't force ourselves to take it, I finally threw it away. Bye-bye almost $50... I'm soooo in love with my new compounded Dr. Jepson vitamins. It is an orange/mango flavor and I just squirt it in their mouths. To me, it is sour. They don't fight it at all. Yippee!!!! Guest guest
Forgot to add: the compounded cal/mag isn't very tasty...it is in an aloe vera base and just not great. So, I got out my shot glasses, again!, and let them fill it with root beer or cola from Whole Foods - and tell them it is a chaser. First I squirt the cal/mag in their mouth, and then they " chase " it with the cola. Of course, I'm chanting " chase it! chase it! way to go! " and they love it! Plus, the fizz clears the bad taste out of their mouth. Believe it or not, since the chaser, no one has spit out any doses, and my little one actually comes up and says " Mommy, can we have the medicine and a chaser? " In his opinion, the cal/mag is medicine. They don't do a chaser after the vitamins. They are very suspicious of juice. They don't drink it much and inspect it for any signs of tampering - I think I ruined it for them a while back by using it to hide supps. Ditto on applesauce. Just my $.02 about what is working in my house right now. Stephanee > > We have kids who reject juice as well.
