Guest guest
We should make this a file that we can put in our FILES section, since it is a common question. 1) You need your doctor's prescription with you, usually just a copy of the pharmacy label will do. (meaning don't just bring the vial...) 2) It is recommended for the fastest and easiest way through security ... get one of those flexible soft small cooler bags (like for baby bottles, lunches, etc. Also purchase a stainless steel small Thermos -- can find them at Target, Walmart. The one that is about 4-5 inches tall with a screw lid is great. HOWEVER, if your GH vial/pen is longer, you have to get a taller thermos. 3) Now, the morning you are leaving. Fill the thermos with cold water and place it in the freezer without a lid, for about 5-10 minutes. Now, take a small sandwich ziplock bag and put 3-4 pieces of ice in it. Push the air out and seal it. Take a second ziplock bag and put the vial of growth hormone in it. Now, empty the water from the thermos (it is now cold), place the ice in the bottom, then the bag/vial, and seal it. 4) Now, put a good frozen ice pack or 2 in the cooler bag, and put your thermos in it. Hopefully there is an outside pocket you can put a torn off prescription label, put the syringes you need, alcohol wipes. If not, put them in a ziplock bag and place them inside. I also put the periactin and other meds inside the cooler bag too, just to keep it all together. 5) We then took a white sheet of paper, and in big permanent marker wrote " Medicine/Syringes: MUST be Refrigerated " , and this is taped securely to the outside flat part of the cooler bag. 6) Now, when you hit security, it is simple. As you walk up, you say to the person as you hold up the bag " I have medicine with syringes in here, do you want it to go through x-ray or do you want to look at it manually. " They will choose which method. And bam, you are done. In flying, gosh, at least 15 round trip flights with GH, we have NEVER been asked for the prescription, ever. Never been stopped. Never had a problem. And honestly, the GH will stay cold for probably 24 hours packed this way. Gives you lots of time. Save this file!!!! > Okay guys! We are flying to Chicago now thanks to someones great > generosity!!! THANK YOU!!!! > Anyhow, we have never flown with gh, needles, etc. before! What do we > do?
