I'm still boycotting Synthroid after the overpricing and attempts to suppress research on bioequivalency. Has everyone else forgiven this? I took Synthroid for about twenty years. I've specifically asked for Levoxyl. *************************************************************************** Courage doesn't always shout. Guest guest
Hi Red- I haven't forgotten. But after all these years of having trouble post-RAI, I'm finally doing pretty well. I don't want to rock the status quo. One other thing. In The Medical Letter (43:57-58) it says that " In practice, however, FDA-quality-control requirements may be insufficient to detect some clinically relevant changes in manufacturing conditions or in the physicochemical characteristics of the drug. " Since thyroid hormones are delivered in micrograms, where equipment would have to be super sensitive to detect any differences at all let alone those that might impact us, I have no doubt that this is true. ly, I don't care whether or not any of the thyroid hormones are FDA approved. As a principle though, your boycott of the manufacturers of Synthroid is perfectly reasonable. I'm not as principled in that regard because Synthroid has been the drug (so far) that has worked for me and I'm tired of trying new drugs and hoping that they'll work. Take care, dx & RAI 1987 (at age 24) > In a message dated 5/18/2003 12:57:54 PM Eastern Standard Time, > graves_support writes: > > > I went to a pharmacy one time that automatically fills with Synthroid .... > > all scrips unless you tell them otherwise. > > I'm still boycotting Synthroid after the overpricing and attempts to suppress > research on bioequivalency.
