Guest guest
You may already know this info, but I'll summarize it for you. Devin Houston was a developer of Serenaid, an enzyme now marketed by Klaire Labs. He worked with Dr.Pangborn (also a developer of Serenaid) and a scientific contributor to the DAN conference and protocol. At some point they split apart and Devin started his own enzyme company. He developed what he claims is a better enzyme. Better to the point he believes the diet for some children may not be necessary. Every DAN doctor at this point claims you must be 100% GFCF while taking enzymes. They are firm that enzymes do NOT replace the diet. I think the parents (as a group) need to be more cautious about their postings. Hopefully they will get another source to verify Devin's product, much like Kirkman's 12 week clinical study they just completed on EnzymAid. I feel parents are acting irresponsibly by releasing this info about peptizyde without solid proof of their claims. I worry they are misleading new parents. Will these enzymes bring children with elevated gliaomorphin & caseomorphin levels to normal? without doing the diet ever? Will this enzyme eliminate other allergies, how about those that are yeast/sugar free? I clearly remember the fog lifting from my child and the absolutely joy of realizing we had found a major key towards her recovery. Will enzymes alone bring these types of results? Devin simply does not know the answers to these questions yet and DAN doctors say enzymes do not replace the diet based on their studies. I have written to Devin's group and hopefully they will come back with a clinical study. When we started the GFCF diet we had Cade, Reichelt, Shattock, etc. who had all done extensive studies proving the GFCF diet. I hope you understand my point of view. As a parent I would love for this enzyme to be true, but we need more proof. All the Best, Cara > > The recent firestorm on this list bothers me, though.
