Guest guest
, Best to post the ranges for your results. If you think a med increase is in order, perhaps you can ask to try 150 mg PTU per day, divided into three doses (every 8 hours). Then get re-tested in 3-4 weeks, and ask for (or rather insist on) both free T3 and free T4 results. Guest guest
That is such a good idea! I'll do this for the next 6 weeks at 200MG a day, and then try to go for 150 a day. Of course 100 a day feels right. Thanks. - > >For the past 5+ years, I've been on 2xDay of 50MG PTU. > >My lab results just came in at: > > > >TSH < 0.03 > >T4 1.0 > > > >My new doctor said it's time to bump up to 2xDay of 100MG PTU. > > > >Does that seem OK? Guest guest
Well, I was thinking start off with 150 mg/day, but clearing it with your doctor first. Perhaps the doc has a reason for 200 rather than 150, but I'd ask about it. I notice that when I started out on 200, I felt sluggish, but then perked up. So it may happen that you feel blah, and then feel better, but you should watch yourself for hypO. Guest guest
Hi , Will I become HYPO before my pulse lowers to normal? Is watching my pulse a good indication of my progress toward normal? Thanks and ever hopeful, AJ > >That is such a good idea! > >I'll do this for the next 6 weeks at 200MG a day, and then try to go > >for 150 a day. Guest guest
Hi , For me, a T4 of 1.0 is low. (low normal) When I reached that level, I began reducing my ATDs which was tapazole. I had also gained weight. Trust your intuition. If you're gaining weight with a low T4 (FT4) and feel at all sluggish, the chances are you are moving towards HypO which might call for a med reduction. The TSH lags behind the T4. Sometimes by many weeks, months, or years. Good luck and take care, zoey
Guest guest
Zoey, thanks for the advice. Ya, I'm feeling like this may a drastic step. I have a pretty rough lifestyle which I'm in the beggining of starting to repair. Drinking and smoking is going way down -hopefully out, and the excersise will start kicking in. Then I bet all this stuff will work out. - > Hi , > > For me, a T4 of 1.0 is low. (low normal) When I reached that level, I began > reducing my ATDs which was tapazole. I had also gained weight.
