Guest guest
Hey , Thanks for your input. :-) I do feel very hyper......and today to add spice to the mix I've been extremely short of breath. I've already got my lab work paper for my next visit, and don't know if it includes the FT3 or not.....it's not listed as such anywhere on there, but they have me checked to get the CBC again, the TSH, the T4 Free, and 2 T3''s....a T3 Total and a T3 Uptake. There isn't a Free T3 on this sheet as I said. Hopefully that's got me covered. :-) If that's not it, I'll make sure they pencil it in next time. Or maybe I'll call his assistant and tell her how I've been feeling and ask if I can pencil it in myself. :-) Thank goodness we aren't HMO patients....at least I feel like I've got more say in requesting things than I would if our coverage was different. I'm not sure if they'll increase my meds or not yet, as I just started like 2 weeks ago, and I doubt if even the low dose I'm on has had a chance to kick in yet, or that my thyroid has dumped the excess hormones it's stored. I'll be sure and share how crappy I've felt this past week, and see what he says. Keeping my fingers crossed that he listens to me and works with me. I've only seen him the one time and don't really have a feel for him yet. So was one of those tests of mine for TPO antibodies? Is that what that Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies test was for? That is weird that they say I have Hashi's if I don't have the antibodies for it......hmmmnnn. I'll have to ask him about that as well. Always more to learn and inquire about! Thanks again for the support and advice. I sure do appreciate it. Have a wonderful evening.

Those are not Free T3. They are less useful. Actually, I am an HMO patient. I think it depends more on the doctor you see. >I'm not sure if they'll increase my meds or not yet, as I just started like 2 >weeks ago, and I doubt if even the low dose I'm on has had a chance to kick >in yet, or that my thyroid has dumped the excess hormones it's stored. >I'll be >sure and share how crappy I've felt this past week, and see what he says. Yes, do that. It sounds like you may need an increase, given how you're feeling, as well as the low dose. But maybe you need to wait for it to kick in. If you get an increase, you'll want to watch for symptoms of hypO, and have thyroid levels (FT3 and FT4) checked at least every 4 weeks. >Keeping my fingers crossed that he listens to me and works with me.
