Someone mentioned in digest 3190 that her child was eating a lot of Fritos and

having a reaction and she thought it might be the corn -- recently it came to

light that they may be cross-contaminated with wheat. My son started limiting

himself to Fritos, and now we know why :-/.

My son also freaks out on Fritos, specifically. He does not react to

any other corn product. Despite the ingredient list, there is something

in them that my kid cannot tolerate. We don't use them any more.

I have the same problem with my daughter. I read either here or on

another list something about a corn protein in Fritoes and xanthan

gum and some other products that caused the reactions. It doesn't

happen with all corn products, like your son, and I'm unable to grasp

exactly what it is.
