Guest guest
Hey y'all- WOW, what a day! Charley hit us HARD and if anyone looks at his path, we were probably as close to the eye as a person could get. Our neighborhood has a lot of damage...upturned trees, shingles off roofs, no electricity, requests to not drink the faucet water (not that I would anyway...Orlando water is NASTY), in-and-out telephone service, etc. My in-laws, who live 1.25 miles away, have full services and MANY less upturned trees and shingle problems. Our house suffered only minor damage....a missing gutter, 2 oak trees that lost lots of limbs but didn't fall...and the 3 neighbors' trees that fell and ALMOST hit our house, DIDN'T hit our house (well one did a little...we'll probably lose a few shingles but that's it). Cleanup will take weeks but we're OK and still have an intact house, which is a good deal better than a lot of people in FL right now. My time online will be sporadic since I'm logging on from my in- laws' house and it's in-between cutting trees and stuff. But just wanted to let y'all know that Joe and I are OK. -Sharon- Just an RSS kid who grew up
