Guest guest
Hoarseness is typically associated with hypOT. I suspect you are hypO right now, but again, need the lab results. Guest guest
Hi ph, Everything you say is happening is hypo. Once the RAI kills the thyroid, you MUST be taking replacement hormone. THEN this stuff will go away. Until then, it will continue to get worse. Do you have health insurance ? Your regular doctor can run the needed lab work and prescribe the replacement hormone. You should not need a doctors appointment to get these labs done. If it were ME, I would walk into the doctors office and tell them I had the RAI , how long ago, that I am NOT on any medicine yet, and that I MUST have the blood tests done. They will probably try to tell you , that you have to wait and wait to see the doctor, but I would keep telling them how very sick I am, and I really need HELP now. There will probably be some sitting and waiting in the reception area, while they run back and forth, and the doctors assistant talks to you. Then she will have to wait for the doctor to come out from the patient he is seeing. THEN he should OK a lab slip, and she will come back and give it to you, and tell you where to go to get your blood drawn. If they do not do any of this, please keep trying to tell them how SICK you are. They will have to listen. -Pam L -
