Guest guest
hi Judith, I met you in the hot tub at the convention and it looks like you may have just answered the question I was about to ask about Zantac dosage...(thanks:) Everyone, when Willie was really (really) little I thought he had reflux. This was years before our recent RSS diagnosis. (6 months ago by Dr Harbison. He is 3 and a half and weighs 10.4 kg). Anyhow, he had all the signs...slept in his bouncy seat, tried to eat then cried like mad, etc. I asked for a test, they did an endoscopy and upper GI. Showed nothing. Now, of course, I've learned that reflux may show up (or not) at any given time. We told the feeding therapist who spoke at the convention about his shirt-chewing. It , too , comes and goes. Well, recently he's chewed through 4 shirts and has been back-tracking on food intake( even w/ an increased Periactin dose as of the convention).Today he said " I have a head ache in my throat " . Reflux, right? My ped will say no but I need to go in armed w/ the info and the dosage spelled out for him. He won't like it but he'll write the prescription, I think. (He's quite a humbled man since he's realized how totally wrong he was about Willie). So, I think I should ask for Prilosec for the morning and Zantac in the evening or should I start w/ twice-a-day Zantac? IS it prescribed by weight or severity of the condition? Any and all info is appreciated greatly! Thank you in advance and always for all the collective wisdom of this group... Kathy (Jack, 5, non -RSS and Willie, 3 1/2 , RSS, Periactin)
Guest guest
HI Kathy (or anyone else who can answer this!) I just read your message regarding something the therapist said at the convention regarding chirt chewing... We weren;t at the convention and I'm wondering what she said!! Finlay used to chew his sleeve all the time - we never understood why! Can you shed any light on this ????
