Guest guest
Yes, it is a lot of weight to carry, and you need to be in the best condition to take care of your family. Your health IS a priority, and you are ultimately responsible for your health care. You may not want to accept that fact, but the sooner you do, the better you will feel. I think everyone at this group and at mediboard has been there, done that, and has found that the surest way to good health is to be proactive. You have taken a good first step in seeking out information. I got the part about your eye symptoms and minor leg itchiness. This is often a part of Graves', as you may well know. You need to keep your eyes lubricated when they feel dry, to keep your eyes healthy. I use Genteal drops (there is also a gel you may want to use at night); some people prefer Refresh brand. A lot of people use flaxseed oil, about 1 tablespoon for every 100 pounds of your weight. That can help to relieve both dry eye and swelling (I don't know that much about it, but a lot of people swear by it, and you will learn more as you read). But the most important question is about your blood work. I take it you haven't gotten labs in a while? Or if so, you don't have the results? Perhaps you can do something in that regard next week. Do you have an endo and/or a GP? Sometimes you can get results much faster thru your GP. Please get the labs I suggested. Then post them here. That is the only way you can begin to decide on a course of action. Hopefully once you are on track, you will look back and realize that life is a whole lot easier than you thought. P.S. From what I understand, arthritis, like Graves' is also an autoimmune illness. Stress can play a big role. A lot of people realize that they can't run themselves into the ground as they once did. That may mean making efforts to destress.
