Guest guest
The last few weeks, it seems everything is out of whack in my test results. My thyroid peroxiase (antibodies test) is over 40 and is should be less than 2, which my GP says means the antibodies are still enjoying my body more than I am. I have had difficulty swallowing because of swollen lymph nodes in the neck, I am fatigued much more than I understand I should be post-orbital radiation, my vision has not improved. My doctor ran a sed rate and CBC panel last week. Those results came back today. He said my " sed rate " is much higher than it should be (should be under 20 and it's 53). He wants to watch it and re-test in a month. He said it means there is inflammation present and he thinks all this is still related to the thyroid. Does any of this make any sense? What is the " sed rate " and how does it relate to all these other things. Should they be considering doing something about the high antibody count? Can/should ATD's be considered even post RAI (by some 25 years!!) since the antibodies seem to be going nuts again? Terri Graves disease 1979; treated with RAI; exothalmia 1982, treated with IV steroids; since then on one or another form of replacement hormone. New flare up of TED with severe double vision, swelling in intraocular muscles and inflammation in August of 2002. Currently hypoactive. Treated TED with prednisone. It worked while on prednisone, but TED came back worse after. Underwent Orbital radiation June-July 2003. No change yet.
