Guest guest
Hi all.. I've been off the board for a few weeks and I'm glad to be back...some great posts! Anyway, Dr. H. gave me the appropriate Zantac dosage for Dalia based on her weight...between this dosage, smaller meals, and Dr. Brown's bottles, her reflux has improved 95% IMO...we have gone from spitting up every day (or more) to maybe once a week. Although, she still coughs and makes a vomit face sometimes, so I know it's still there... Which brings me to my conversation with the GI (who is very nice and calls me at home and it caring)...but, I told him about the Zantac dosage and he asked " Who told you to do that?? " with an alarmed tone in his voice...I explained and gently mentioned that she needs a higher dosage than normal due to her situation...he did not agree with this. That actually worried me - I mean an accomplished GI acting worried at the dosage...why is this? Why such a discrepancy in doctors on this seemingly simple idea? Anyway, I told him that I wanted to get a second opinion and he agreed (very graciously) and wer are seeing the main doctor in his office on 8/30. Now for a BIG VENT...I'll try make it short...the endo visit was terrible. He was very defensive the minute I mentioned DR H. and her ideas. Also, the way they measured Dalia's height was a joke!! The nurse measured 25.5 " on the left and 24.75 " on the right...I said this could not be possible since Dr. H. assured us the difference was only 2 mm. Then the endo measured and got 24 " on both sides!!! She was 24.75 " in Chicago!! I don't think she shrunk! The bar up against Dalia's head was pushed backwards and I asked him about this HUGE difference in measurement...he just said " well, everyone measures differently " ...and this is his response knowing that her height is crucial??? Needless to say, I am in the process of going somewhere else...and we are going to try to se Dr. H. in October. Thanks for listening.
