Guest guest
Hi Betsy. So often when someone writes about doing RAI in the immediate future the list is flooded with messages with DON'T DO IT! in the subject line. The fact that so far only 's responded is because either not everyone read your messages yet, or because covered all the bases so well! Please take what she says very seriously. It is very possible that her doctor didn't administer RAI properly, either putting her on inappropriately high or low doses, not changing her doses gradually, taking her off too soon... It is very sad that even when endos can be persuaded to put a patient on ATDs that they don't even try to follow a decent protocol. Please do what you can to prevent her from doing this. With all the multiple stresses in her life she doesn't need the repercussions of RAI (severe hypothyroidism that many endos don't manage well, the increased risk of thyroid eye disease, PCOS and infertility, to name a few). If you can, get her to join this list. There are experienced people here who will gently walk her through this. Best wishes, Fay ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand! Surf the web up to FIVE TIMES FASTER! Guest guest
Hi Betsy, Fay got it right -- did cover all the bases so well. I read your messages and 's responses, and I just wanted to pipe in and say I agree with the suggestions by and Fay. Hope your daughter joins the group as well as makes it over to Mediboard.com (the place to start is the Thyroid Awareness 101 thread), and that she starts to feel better soon.
